Nathan Thorell, the Nationwide Interview Master Wired for Internet Transmissions (NIMWIT for short), has conducted a brief interview with Chris Patton, currently featured in (insert title here) from ADV Films*. For the full-on Chris Patton Experience you'll want to check out The Dub Club Vol. 1 which includes a video interview with Mr. Patton among other VAs; in the meantime, here's a non-toxic taste of the man behind Ayato Kamina.

Chris Patton landed his first role as a background character in ADV Films’ release of Master of Mosquiton. Nowadays, he’s playing lead roles left and right and with wonderful execution to boot. I recently had the chance to ask a few questions to this roller coaster loving voice actor about some of his recent projects.

The Obvious Answer is "Guy Who Says Spooge"
Nathan Thorell: If you could live as one character you've voiced for a day, who would it be and why?
Chris Patton: I think I would like to live as Sousuke Sagara (Full Metal Panic!) for a day, just because he is my complete opposite, and I would love to see what life is like in somebody's shoes who is THAT different from me.

Gravion? Yeah, I'm In That
NT: What do you think of Gravion?
CP: I freaking LOVE Gravion! I love the artwork, the sound, and the dialogue. I don't think the storyline is the most original to ever emerge, but I LOVE the show on the whole.

Guys on GALS
NT: Super GALS! is a show that has a very devoted following on the internet. Are there any scenes that stuck out with you from the show?
CP: Oh wow, well as you probably know, this is my FAVORITE anime of all time. I think the scene that gets me the most (because I am a hopeless romantic), is the scene where Rei finally gives in and shows Aya some affection. I loved that.

But I don't want huge tracts of land...
NT: What's it like playing a character where just about all of your lines are sung? (referring to Ikenami from Nuku Nuku TV)
CP: Ha, I loved doing that. It was trying on the voice, sort of like doing a really LONG musical (where I was the only singer) in a small recording booth. But I had a great time. I will also be singing A LOT in Aquarian Age, so look out for that.

Re-Kamina
NT: RahXephon is a dub and show that's been widely acclaimed. Some time was taken off between the recording of the television show and the movie. What was it like going back into the booth to record the role of Ayato Kamina?
CP: It was surreal and moving. Truly. At first, it felt odd just to jump back into that character's skin, but by the end, it was like I was channeling him. And the end of the movie touched me so much, I can honestly say I was crying in the booth when we wrapped..

Wrapping Things Up...
NT: Some last words for your fans?
CP: Just that all of you guys rock. I am continually overwhelmed by the support and love I get from fans, not just at conventions, but on the Internet as well. And just in case any of you are wondering, HELL YES I am excited about getting to do (Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu)! Ha ha. Apart from that, just keep being cool, rock on!

We'd like to thank Mr. Patton for his time and participation in this interview. You can catch Chris Patton in Gravion, Super GALS, Full Metal Panic! and this summer's release of the RahXephon movie. Be sure to visit the Chris Patton Fan Group where you can chat about Mr. Patton's latest roles and also get updates directly from the source.
